40 years ago, E.T. The Extraterrestrial landed in cinemas and hearts around the world. Director Steven Spielberg used the story of an alien who is accidentally left on earth to tell the very human story of a family adjusting to the trauma of divorce, as well as love, loyalty, and compassion for those who don't look like us. Spielberg cast Dee Wallace as mum to Elliott, Michael and Gertie. She'd already been in some classic thrillers like The Stepford Wives and Cujo before ET. She tells us about her memories of working on E.T. , her work now to help people find their own live light and an act of kindness by Director Sir Peter Jackson while she was working on The Frighteners in New Zealand.
