'Letters Of A Naturalist: The Field Accounts of Richard Henry of Resolution Island' is a beautiful new book featuring photos, letters and field notes from the late 1800s.
The notes are detailing very early trans-locations of birds when mustelids first started to sweep Aotearoa.
It's all come from the work of pioneer conservationist Richard Treacy Henry (1845-1929), champion of our flightless native birds and New Zealand’s first wildlife ranger.
Victoria Jaenecke is the co-author of this book, she speaks to Jesse.
