NZ Sporting History: Suzie Bates

Suzie Bates grew up playing backyard cricket with her older brothers in Dunedin.

By the time she was 15, she was playing for the Otago Sparks, and she made her international debut in 2006.

At the 2009 World Cup, she took 4 for 7 with against South Africa and scored memorable168 off 105 against Pakistan.

Suzie was made White Ferns captain in July 2011, holds a number of playing records, and has played around the world for New Zealand and in franchise leagues.

She is currently preparing four a tour to England in June and July, before the big one...theT20 World Cup in Bangladesh in October.
