A Taranaki teenager has set an ice swimming world record, despite only recently taking up the discipline. Last month, Madeline Hobo broke the Under 18 500-metre world record at the New Zealand Ice Swimming Championships in Alexandra, Central Otago.
Sounds cool enough, but Madeline is now aiming to take the plunge at the world championships in Italy in January.
