Labour assault claims saga ongoing as Ardern heads overseas

The controversy over sexual assault allegations is still swirling around the Prime Minister as she departs for a two week trip overseas on Tuesday night.

However a confirmed meeting between US President Donald Trump and Jacinda Ardern when she's at the United Nations in New York provided some distraction.

Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters has launched into the scandal - fresh from a month's medical leave from Parliament - describing the events as a "disgraceful orgy of speculation and innuendo".
