Ex-assistant principal of Dilworth jailed for indecent assault

From Checkpoint, 5:21 pm on 23 March 2021

The former assistant principal of Dilworth - a boarding school for underprivileged boys - has been jailed for indecently assaulting pupils.

Sixty-nine-year-old Ian Robert Wilson admitted to premeditated offending against vulnerable boys, some as young as 12 - one every week for two years.

Wilson - who has a previous conviction for similar offending - told the court degenerate behaviour at the school was so common it had become normalised.

Jordan Bond reports from the Auckland District Court.
