The final nail is in the coffin for New Zealand's only oil refinery.
Refining NZ today confirmed Marsden Point will close next year and instead move to an import only terminal.
That will end 60 years of local production and cut more than 200 jobs.
First Union says it's a worst case scenario - with the environment, fuel security and the economy all set to take a hit.
