Building costs are going up faster than houses with some tradies struggling to get their hands on basic materials and facing unknown freight costs.
Part of it is Covid and supply chain uncertainty. That's also been compounded by some operators stockpiling materials to avoid missing out.
It also means products need to be ordered 6-12 months before they are due on site.
