Cancer patients urge govt to boost funding for life-saving drugs

Cancer patients want the government to step up as many struggle to fund their own treatment.

A report by the Cancer Control Agency has found 18 gold-standard cancer medicines are funded by Australia but not New Zealand.

Meaning more than a thousand New Zealand cancer patients a year are missing out.

Rosie Gordon spoke to those paying tens of thousands to stay alive.
