Wellington City Council has voted to consult with the public on whether to sell its stake in the city's airport.
The council has today been debating its long term plan as it grapples with mounting financial pressures.
As part of that the council has agreed to consult on selling its 34 percent stake in Wellington International Airport.
And community groups have been making a last-ditch effort to secure funding for their causes. Ashleigh McCaull reports.
