A high profile cash strapped charity is having to cull hundreds of families from its free food parcel service because it can't balance its own books.
The South Auckland based foodbank run by former boxer, turned fitness coach David Letele is in strife, after being unable to secure government funding.
It costs about a million dollars a year to operate.
The food bank has already trimmed staff and has been relying on donations to stay afloat and is now looking to diversify to get some cash coming in.
