The Race Relations Commissioner has joined criticism of the government for removing references to Maori experiences in the New Zealand plan to eliminate racism.
Yesterday, the National Iwi Chairs Forum announced its withdrawal from the working group for the National Action Plan Against Racism - a government commitment to the United Nations to take concrete steps towards stamping out racism.
The responsibility for the National Action Plan Against Racism is with the Minister of Justice, Paul Goldsmith.
He said he found out about the Iwi Chairs Forum decision through a media release.
