A teenager's been arrested over a so called "smishing" scam using sophisticated tech that police have never seen in New Zealand before."Smishing," is when a piece of technology called a blaster basically poses as a false cell tower tricking your mobile into connecting to the faux network that is controlled by the scammer. Once they've got you hooked in, they can send you dodgy text messages pretending to be your bank or a government agency with links for your to click and share sensitive data.
