Masterchef New Zealand winner 2022, author, and Instagram star Sam Low joins Culture 101 to share his inspirations and cultural favourites.
Low has teamed up with former Metro Food Editor, Jean Teng, to co-host a new podcast, Ate Ate Ate, and hopes their insider knowledge and experience in the industry, and their queer and Asian perspectives will set them apart.
Low says that whenever a film or theatre project piques his interest, he’ll watch it three times. Favourites include the film All of Us Strangers starring Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal and an endurance-based dance work which was performed at The Basement Theatre during Pride, Oli Mathiesen’s The Butterfly Who Flew Into The Rave. Low is also a long-time fan of Ru Paul’s Drag Race and he’s watched almost every season of American reality show Top Chef.
