Comedy podcast Did Titanic Sink? is back baby! But the pull of the Titanic proves too powerful and the duo coordinate a detour and misdirection for this second season.
Directed by comedian and 2023 Billy T Winner, Abby Howells, season two looks at various characters, considering who they were and what they knew. The duo discover a New Zealand link: key figure, British mariner Charles Lightoller. Rose Matafeo (Starstruck) also lends her voice to the podcast.
Since the age of 10, Howells has had a fascination with the sea. Her interests in the Titanic are specifically geared towards the passengers and staff on board. All facing the same dilemma: what did everyone choose to do that night?
Howells spoke to Culture 101 about directing a podcast for the first time, bringing her fact-checking skills to the table and psycho-analysing her obsession with the sea.
