Empowering women in new facemask business - By Mishco
After being made redundant from her fashion industry job, Ayla Bligh set up a new New Zealand fashion label, selling limited edition masks with matching hair scrunchies. Within a week of launcing, 'By Mishco' is selling up to 50 masks an hour to customers here and overseas - and has got five other women back working. And that was also one of Ayla's aims - to empower women, who make up 90 percent of the 11 thousand redundancies in New Zealand due to Covid-19. She spoke with Indira Stewart.
