Reefton offering Covid vaccinations to whole town

From First Up, 5:45 am on 11 May 2021

The West Coast town of Reefton could soon claim the title of the safest place in the country from Covid-19. Due to its isolated location, West Coast District Health Board decided that it would make more sense to offer shots to the general public rather than rolling the vaccine out in several stages. While frontline workers and people with underlying health conditions will continue to be prioritised, from Thursday the remainder of the town's 900 residents will be able to register to receive the Pfizer vaccine. So will Reefton be the first place in New Zealand to be completely vaccinated against Covid-19? Joining Nathan Rarere is the Mayor of Buller District, Jamie Cleine.
