Government to tighten up firearms laws to combat gun crime

The government is to introduce firearms legislation preventing certain people from accessing, being around, or using firearms, in a bid to combat gun crime. It will allow authorities to impose a firearms prohibition order on people deemed a high risk, including people convicted of serious violence or firearms offences. It will also apply to gangs.
