From First Up, 5:34 am on 7 June 2022

If you have ever been to the Cook Islands and had a beer, theres a very good chance that Trader Jacks was the place where you enjoyed the famous hospitality of the Island nation. The bar and restaurant on the waterfront has survived 3 cyclones AND a visit by a drunken Zac Guilford and remains one of the South Pacific's most famous landmarks. Trader Jacks founder Jack Cooper passed away last week with the country mourning one of its great characters. Joining Nathan Rarere is president of the Cook Islands Tourism Industry Council and manager of the Muri Beach Club Hotel in Rarotonga, Liana Scott.
