Latest figures show there are over 10 thousand new cases of Covid-19 so far and 21 deaths, another sign the current wave of Covid is spreading ... and fast. Notably, two of the new cases reported are of the Omicron subvariant BA 2.75, which were detected circulating in the community in Tamaki Makaurau. This adds to the previous six cases of the strain found at the border. Joining Nathan Rarereto explain what this means is University of Otago evolutionary biologist and virologist Dr Jemma Geoghegan.
