Tūroa ski field readying for busy ski season

It's an exciting day at Mount Ruapehu today... The school holidays have begun, and the snow is falling! The $5 million funding from the government has allowed the Turoa and Whakapapa skifields to open, despite Ruapehu Alpine Lifts being in liquidation. But the slopes were closed over the weekend - with blizzard conditions making it too dangerous. Johan Bergman's the manager for the Turoa ski field, and he's on the road up there now.
