Auckland Transport closing pedestrian rail crossings, but is that making it safer?

Auckland Transport is planning to close seven pedestrian crossings over railway lines around the city, as it gets ready for more frequent trains with the City Rail Link. But that's upset the communities who use those crossings as a safe alternative to busy roads. They say AT is pushing ahead with the closures - no matter what it hears from the public.
