10:18 Grounded Kiwis react to border reopening
Today the government announced New Zealand's border will be reopening in a 5-step plan. The first step begins at 11:59pm on 27th February when fully vaccinated Kiwis and other eligible travelers will be able to travel to New Zealand from Australia without going into MIQ. Grounded Kiwis spokesperson Martin Newell joins Karyn to discuss his reaction to the news.
10:24 US and Australia row over Captain Cooks 'Endeavour'
Today it was reported that after 22 years of research - in a partnership between US and Australian maritime archaeologists - the remains of the Endeavour, the ship that Cook captained on his maiden voyage to Australia and New Zealand in 1770, had been discovered in Newport Harbour in Rhode Island in the US. However, the American research partners disagree, saying "There are many unanswered questions that could overturn such an identification,". Joining us now is Dr Nigel Erskine the Honorary Research Associate for the project with the National Maritime Museum of Australia.

10:35 Hawkes Bay leaders vote against 80km/h speed limit
The Hawkes Bay Regional Transport Committee this evening voted against dropping the speed limit from 100km/h to 80km/h that Waka Kotahi are bringing into force on February 18th. Despite widespread opposition and petitioning from locals, Waka Kotahi insists the change will go ahead saying an 80km/h speed limit will make the road safer. At tonight's extraordinary meeting of the Hawkes Bay Regional Transport Committee, where interested parties put their case forward, including the police and Waka Kotahi, the vote went against the 80km/h limit and now the chair of the committee, Martin Williams, says he's ready to take the crown to court if it comes to it.
