10:18 Banned from Parliament - what's Winston's next move?

The trespass orders handed down by Speaker of the House Trevor Mallard may yet invite a costly legal stoush.

One of those banned from parliament for two years is mercurial poltician,  NZ First leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters: banned for two years from a place he has worked for more than four decades.

Constitutional law expert Professor Andrew Geddis from University of Otago weighs up Winston's possible remedies.

10:30 Mayoral hopeful at 21

One man in Nelson is hoping the local body elections on October 8th will see him become the youngest mayor in New Zealand's history at the age of 22.

Rohan O'Neill-Stevens has already served two and half years on the Nelson council, having been elected in the 2019 elections when he was just 20.

His age is drawing a lot of attention but Rohan doesn't think it's a big deal -- "competency" should be the bench mark for Mayor.
