It's time for the Rest is History. This Saturday is the anniversary of the first inter-city brass band competition! In 1880 two and a half thousand people gathered in the Christchurch Drill Hall to watch six bands duke it out. Since then Brass Bands have remained hugely popular. To explain what they're all about, and why they have always drawn huge crowds Karyn is joined by David Bremner. As well as being the Principal Trombone in the New Zealand Symphony orchestra David is the Musical Director of the National Brass Band of New Zealand!
