Almost a year ago, LOIMATA, The Sweetest Tears had its world premiere as part of the 2020 International Film Festival and then this year it had its television debut on Waitangi Day on Maori Television. It's a documentary, directed by Anna Marbrook which honours the last voyage of the great waka maker, sailor and mentor Ema Siope, and her journeys between Aotearoa and Sāmoa in search of healing, and her family's reckoning with systemic abuse.
