Fiordland businesses are describing the Department of Conservation's decision to resume concession fees for tourism companies operating in national parks as "Another kick in the guts". The Government has waived the fees for nearly two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic but DOC announced last week the fee waiver will end on December 31st. Fiordland Business Association chairman Nathan Benfell has called the move "a low blow" and joins Karyn to discuss the impact this will have on businesses.
