Some Maori living in mangrove swamps in Hauraki

This week Te Whariki Manawahine o Hauraki, Hauraki Women's Refuge, released a report detailing the struggles wahine Maori face in Hauraki to get access to housing, with some being forced to sleep in cars with their children. Denise Messiter is the CEO of Te Whariki Manawahine o Hauraki and she says some Maori are living in sheds in mangrove swamps.
