More than 200 people protest Endeavour replicas in Gisborne

From Midday Report, 12:47 pm on 10 June 2020

More than 200 people have taken part in a peaceful protest in Gisborne today to oppose the permanent installment of two replicas of Captain Cook's ship the Endeavour.

The Gisborne District Council initially voted in favour of installing the replicas without any public consultation.

But after widespread critiscism, the community will now be allowed to send in submissions.

Gisborne local Aubrey Ria led the protest and spoke with Te Aniwa Hurihanganui.
