The Rotorua Stockcar Club is under pressure to abandon its use of the American Confederate flag - known globally as an emblem of racism and white supremacy.
On its Facebook page, the club says the flag was "innocently introduced to the club around 1985 and has become the symbol of our club, racing teams and their supporters ever since".
But after objections were raised, the club is now going to reconsider the flag's continued use.
Club member and former New Zealand Super Stock Champion, Kyle Fraser, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
