Some people could still be allowed to leave covid-19 quarantine facilities, despite the government banning compassionate exemptions.
Two women have tested positive for the disease after travelling from Auckland to Wellington following the death of a parent, leading to the Government calling for a halt to any compassionate exemptions.
But people can still leave managed isolation if they are granted an exemption for medical reasons, critical work, transit or extradition.
