A parent at Chapel Downs primary school in South Auckland is angry it took two days after a child tested positive for Covid-19, for parents to be told, and the school to be closed.
Public health officials say the child was tested on Sunday, but -– against official advice to self-isolate – the pupil was dropped off at school on Monday morning, before being picked up half an hour later.
They later returned a positive test.
The family is in isolation and the school is now closed for cleaning.
Ramana Ah Fook, who has two children at Chapel Downs, says parents were only notified yesterday afternoon.
