A kura kaupapa in Christchurch with mouldy and leaky buildings is giving an ultimatum to the Ministry of Education – rebuild the kura or else.
The Ministry has been looking to rebuild Te Kura Kaupapa o te Whanau Tahi for 10 years now, and in March it was told the dilapidated building would be rebuilt.
But after the Covid lockdown, the kura said the Ministry told them that it was now just looking at repairs - though all options will be discussed at a meeting next week.
Anton Matthews is the deputy chair of the kura's board.
He spoke to Māni Dunlop.
