National to pass emergency legislation for building if elected

National is promising to take urgent action to make houses more affordable if elected, by passing emergency legislation similiar to that used for the Christchurch rebuild.

National leader Judith Collins released the party's housing policy in Tamaki Makaurau this morning, announcing they would require all councils to immediately open up 30 years worth of growth for urban development.

She said they would also amend the Resource Management Act within their first 100 days in office to streamline the rescurce consent process.
