Auckland women get early access to HPV self-screening
Women in Auckland will have early access to a new cervical cancer self-screening test before it's funded nationally in two years. The screening allows women to test themselves for the cancer-causing virus, rather than having a pap smear with a doctor or nurse. The research programme targets Māori and Pacific women. Max Towle spoke to Dr Karen Bartholomew - the Director of Health Outcomes at the Waitematā and Auckland DHBs.
