Children's Ministers advisors concerned at OT residences
The people appointed to be the Children's Minister's eyes-and-ears on Oranga Tamariki were concerned about what they found when they went into a youth residential facility yesterday. That comes after Newsroom published a video showing a child being tackled and held in a headlock by staff at one of its facilities. Oranga Tamariki chief executive Sir Wira Gardiner says the police have been called in, and social workers have spoken to the child involved. The Oranga Tamariki ministerial advisory board chair, Matthew Tukaki speaks to Māni Dunlop.
