The government is going to overhaul its welfare programme for young children - after a review found it was outdated and inequitable. The Well Child Tamariki Ora programme, which began with Royal New Zealand Plunket in 1907, offers free health screening for under five-year-olds and advice for their parents. The associate minister of Health Dr Ayesha Verrall made the announcement at Takapūwāhia this morning in Porirua and joins Māni Dunlop on Midday Report.
