A magnitude 6 earthquake has struck near Melbourne.
Geoscience Australia says the quake hit shortly after 11 this morning about 150 kilometres east of the city at a depth of 10 kilometres.
It was felt across Victoria, and in Canberra, Wagga Wagga, and Newcastle.
The quake struck near the town of Mansfield - the mayor Mark Holcombe was yet to hear any reports of major damage.
