Two deaths of people isolating by themselves at home with Covid-19 in Auckland were potentially preventable.
The Northern Region Health Co-ordination Centre has apologised to their whānau and unreservedly accepted the findings of a review it commissioned into the deaths in early November.
The centre lead and Counties Manukau DHB chief executive Fepulea'i Margie Apa told Māni Dunlop a lack of cultural capacity and not referring the cases to a Māori public health provider contributed to the failings.
