New Zealand director, Dame Jane Campion's film "The Power of the Dog" has been nominated for 12 Oscars.
It includes best picture, best director, best actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, best cinematography and best score.
Among the nominees is fellow New Zealander Grant Major, who is up for best production design after transforming a small plot of South Island land into 1925 Montana.
He spoke to Midday Report's Māni Dunlop.
