To Tāmaki Makaurau, where Councillors are considering whether to ask locals to have their say on a proposal to turn parking spaces on the roads into bus and carpool lanes, cycleways, and bigger footpaths.
In simple terms, the idea is to make sure roads are used for transporting people and things -- rather than storing cars.
But, some businesses fear losing customers.
University of Auckland senior lecturer at the school of Architecture and Planning Dr Timothy Welch spoke to Māni Dunlop about the evidence for the changes.
