From Midday Report, 12:43 pm on 14 April 2022

More than 2,300 homes across Tairawhiti have been without power, in the aftermath of the former Cyclone Fili.

Overnight wind gusts were measured at 100 kilometres per hour at Poua, between Gisborne and Tologa Bay.

The clean-up in the region is well underway, with more than 200 contractors working to clean up the roading network.

Gisborne Civil Defence Manager Ben Green spoke to Māni Dunlop.
