Olympic gold medallist Dame Lisa Carrington will represent New Zealand at the canoeing world champs.
She edged out her rival, defending world champ Aimee Fisher in the final race of their duel.
The pair raced off in the third and deciding race on Lake Karapiro in breezy and choppy conditions this morning, with Carrington winning the decider by half a boat length.
