Loan sharks target struggling parents on social media

High-interest finance companies are using social media to target families struggling to pay the costs of getting their children back to school. Budgeting services say they are helping a number of families who can't afford to pay for stationery and uniforms, and they're warning people to avoid resorting to high-interest loans. The chief executive of Budgeting and Family Support Services in South Auckland, Darryl Evans, told RNZ reporter Tom Furley without help some families are delaying sending their children to class.
