Kiwi drinking culture leading to emergency dept
Alcohol's influence on visits to the emergency department is the focus of a new global study - and New Zealand does not come out well. New Zealand ranks second out of 28 countries for the proportion of injured people arriving at emergency departments who have been drinking. The results put the country's rampant drinking culture and alcohol laws under fresh scrutiny. Dr Bridget Kool from the University of Auckland was part of the team that led the New Zealand arm of the study. She talks to Guyon Espiner.
