Māori advisor no substitute for a Māori ward

A regional council that narrowly rejected creating a Māori ward last year is now appointing a Māori advisor. The Hawke's Bay Regional Council already has a Māori advisory council but says the new job will carry more weight. Local Maori and one of the councillors say the role is a good first step, but it does not go far enough. Te Aniwa Hurihanganui reports.
