Aviation emissions reduction rules planned - govt

The government says work is now under way to develop new rules that will support a reduction in carbon emissions from aircraft. Transport Minister Phil Twyford says globally, aviation accounts for about two percent of total CO2 emissions. Mr Twyford told an aviation industry conference in Nelson that 15 million departures were handled domestically last year - and it's going to get busier.
