Firefighters urges ban on flammable couches

From Morning Report, 8:52 am on 12 November 2018

Fire and Emergency NZ is warning about the dangers of foam padding in furniture that has the combustible potential of 10 litres of petrol. Padded furniture like couches and mattresses that contain polyurethane are highly flammable and can burn super quickly, giving off a highly poisonous smoke. Fire and Emergency demonstrated this to  Consumer Affairs Minister Kris Faafoi. He says leaving things as they are isn't an option. Peter Wilding is Fire and Emergency's national fire investigations manager. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
