Nervous wait before Pike River Mine decision
Friends and family of those who died in the Pike River mine disaster are nervously awaiting an announcement this morning from the Minister Responsible for Pike River re-entry, Andrew Little. Mr Little will give his decision on whether, and if so how, the West Coast coal mine will be re-entered in an attempt to recover the remains of the 29 men who died there, and to search for clues as to why it exploded. Three options for re-entry were released in June this year for evaluation. Tommy Daly lost a close friend, Milton Osborne, in the 2010 explosion.
