NZ Police say the New Zealand chapter of the notorious Comancheros motorcycle gang was established by deportees from Australia. In raids in Auckland on Thursday, six members and associates of the motorcycle gang were arrested and face charges of money laundering and supplying drugs.
More than 80 police officers raided 10 properties, seizing some four million dollars worth of assets. The police organised crime unit's national manager is Detective Superintendent Greg Williams.
He told RNZ reporter Sarah Robson that patched members from Australia were deported here and they've been aggressively expanding the so-called 'East-Side' chapter.
